Thanks for sharing this resource. I used it in my Employee session today. My session tied in China, the Olympics and Thinkfinity. I used the Fastest Swimsuit podcast to lead off a discussion about the number of World and Olympic swimming records being broken this year and whether or not the suits may be a contributing factor. We then went over to RWT's Venn diagram to compare and contrast the new and old suits. We also used their timeline to create a “Michael Phelps’ road to Gold” timeline that outlined his swimming events, dates, times, etc. on his path to setting a new Olympic feat for 8 Gold medals!!!

Afterwards, we discussed how some of their children may be dreaming of becoming the next Michael Phelps, but others may have children trying to decide on a major or career. Your Careers in Sports and Exercise Science was a great reference for encouraging their children to stay involved in sports but through an academic career. Whether that be a sports psychologist, or sports scientist that invents the next swim speed suit to help the next Olympian become a part of the history books!

Thank you so much for letting us know how you used our resources. Your suggestions for use are excellent.

Keep an eye out for more career connections on Science NetLinks. We're hoping that if we can show the many interesting and diverse career paths, students will consider a science career path early on.
